Tofu with peanuts
Tofu originates from China but is brought to Indonisia by the many immigrants.
Ingredients:
- 500g firm Tofu.
- 1/2 l oil to deep-fry in.
- 3 tablespoons of peanutbutter
- 2 tablespoons of chopped garlic.
- 2 small red chilipeppers.
- 1 teaspoon of trassie
- 2 tablespoons of ketjap
- 3 tablespoons of lemonjuice
- 1 teaspoons of sugar
- 1/4 l coconutmilk from a can
- 100 gr oftauge
- 50g of roasted peanuts
- 1 springonion
Cut the tofu in cubicles of 2 by 2 cm's and let them leak on a kitchentowl.
Heat the oil in a large wok until the oil starts to vapour and fry the cubicles tofu in two portions until they're light brown.
Wipe the wok clean and use 1/1/2 tablespoon of the oil. Add, when the oil is hot, the peanutbutter, garlic, chillipepper and trassie. Stirfry for one minute.
Add the leaked tofupieces and stirfry again for about 30 seconds. Add the ketjap, lemonjuice, sugar and coconutmilk. Turn the fire down and let the
mixture boil lightly for 8 minutes.
Turn the fire up and let it boil until the moist is mostly evapourated. Put the tofu in a bowl, put on top of that the tauge, sprinkle with peanuts and springonions,
server immediately.
